Shreveport police officer fired

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — A Shreveport Police officer has been fired for violating department policies.

Chief Willie Shaw fired 28-year-old Ryan Robinson after a pre-disciplinary conference held Monday.

KSLA-TV reports Robinson was arrested May 4 for misdemeanor theft and malfeasance in office for allegedly stealing property during the execution of a search warrant.

Robinson was accused of stealing a ceremonial American flag during a search warrant executed by the joint Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Task Force at a home in Vivian back in August 2010.

Shreveport Police later recovered the flag and turned it over to sheriff's investigators.
