Off-duty cop accused of DUI in crash

A Boston police officer is facing drunken driving charges after a crash that seriously injured a Hyde Park woman in May.

Richard Jeanetti was off-duty on May 24 when police said his pickup truck hit another vehicle. Investigators said the pickup was going about 70 mph before the crash.

Medical tests showed a blood alcohol level of three-times the legal limit, investigators said.

Jeanetti's attorneys dispute the investigators' claims.

Jeanetti was placed on restricted duty by Boston police and his driver's license was suspended by the state.

On Friday, Jeanetti was released on personal recognizance.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Sept. 11.
