The City of
Lubbock has agreed to pay thousands to the man shot by a police officer.
Last September, Officer Curtis Fish shot and wounded Willie Williams, 91.
The World War Two veteran took the first shot, thinking Fish was breaking into his home, but the officer was actually investigating another burglary.
Williams survived, but sued the city and Officer Fish.
Thursday, the city council voted to settle with Williams and agreed to pay him $76,000.
Officer Fish still faces a civil lawsuit as an individual in this case.
