Officer Charged With Two Felonies
JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -According to Many Signals
Communications, charges have been filed against Sabetha police officer
Ryan Bruggerman.
On Thursday, Bruggerman was arrested on a warrant charging
him with two felonies, one count each of distribution of methamphetamine and
official misconduct.
Nemaha County District court made the charges after an
investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. Court documents indicate
the the drug in question was apparently taken from police evidence.
The former officer worked for the Sabetha Police Department
from June 2009 through April 11th 2011 and is being held in the Jackson County
Jail on $150,000 bond. The Kansas Attorney General's office is prosecuting the
case and Bruggerman's first court appearance will come on Tuesday, June 5th at
1pm.
