WASHINGTON, Ind. —A Washington, Ind., police officer charged with
battery and misconduct stemming from a Christmas Eve arrest last year, turned
himself in to authorities Tuesday.
According to the Indiana State Police, 27-year-old Barry A. Hudson, who
made his initial court appearance later on Tuesday. is formally charged with
official misconduct, a class D felony and battery resulting in bodily injury,
which is a class A misdemeanor. Hudson is free on a $2,500 bond.
According to a state police news release, the criminal investigation
into Hudson's alleged actions started in January at the request of Martin
County Michael Steiner, who was appointed as the case's special prosecutor.
Hudson's trial is tentatively scheduled to start on Oct. 23.
