Randall Robinson resigns from Little Rock Police after federal drug charges

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - One of two Little Rock police officers indicted on drug charges has resigned from the force. Little Rock police spokesman Lt. Terry Hastings said Friday that Randall Tremayn Robinson's attorney sent a letter of resignation for his client. The other officer, Anthony Jones, remains on paid administrative leave. Hastings says the disciplinary process against Jones is continuing. Last week, a federal judge ordered the men to remain in custody pending a June 4 detention hearing. Both are charged with conspiring to aid and abet and attempting to aid and abet the possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possessing a firearm while taking part in a drug-trafficking crime.
