PHILADELPHIA
Police Officer Ricardo Gonzalez is likely to lose his job after being arrested
for allegedly assaulting his wife while he was off duty on March 11.
Internal
Affairs investigated the incident with the help of the Philadelphia District
Attorney’s Office, and Gonzalez, 33, was arrested on Friday, police said.
Gonzalez, a
14-year department veteran, was arrested on charges of simple assault,
terroristic threats and related offenses. Commissioner Charles Ramsey suspended
Gonzalez for 30 days with the intent do dismiss.
Gonzalez was
assigned to the 9th Police District, which covers parts of South Philadelphia,
Center City, Spring Garden, Fairmount and Francisville.
