HAMPSTEAD — A Hampstead police
officer is on administrative suspension pending the outcome of a state police
investigation of a domestic incident.
Officer Kathleen Boulter was removed
from duty because of the incident, which happened early Monday, Lt. John
Frazier said yesterday.
She is on paid leave while state
police investigate, Frazier said.
"I can confirm there was an
incident," he said. "There has been no arrest."
Frazier would not release details
because state police are investigating.
The investigating trooper could not
be reached for comment.
Frazier said the matter was referred
to state police because a member of the Hampstead Police Department, Boulter,
was involved.
"The chief and I have placed
her on administrative leave," Frazier said.
Boulter, known as "Kat,"
is a 1991 graduate of Pinkerton Academy and 1996 graduate of Plymouth State.
An outstanding athlete, Boulter played
soccer and ran track at Pinkerton, was on the lacrosse team in college, has
been in the Boston Marathon and competed in triathlons.
Boulter in March was credited with
helping round up a group of suspects in burglaries in Salem and Atkinson
