CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -
A Charleston Police Department officer was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly assaulting a female acquaintance at his Raymond Way home.
Officers arrested one of their own, 31-year-old Chris Smith at 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Smith is charged with criminal domestic violence. It is his first offense.
Smith was being held at the Charleston County Detention Center. He has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of this matter.
The investigation is ongoing.
