A South Lake Tahoe Police Officer has been arrested on allegations
of witness tampering and police misconduct both on and off-duty.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been investigating
44-year-old John Gerald Poland or "Johnny" for three years.
Wednesday the FBI announced Poland was arrested on accusations of
trying to keep witnesses from giving information or evidence in criminal
investigations.
Investigators say other allegations include giving sensitive
information about law enforcement to gang affiliates and sexual conduct with
minors.
The FBI says the alleged misconduct happened over the course of
several years, including during his time as a School Resource Office at South
Tahoe High School.
