Oro Valley cop charged with theft

ORO VALLEY (Tucson News Now) - A cop has been released from active duty after being cited for misdemeanor theft.
Oro Valley Police says officers were investigating a larceny on Tuesday at the Walmart in the Oro Valley Marketplace. During the investigation, they say they obtained information which implicated an on-duty Oro Valley cop who was involved in a separate larceny.
OVPD contacted the Pima County Sheriff's Department. Deputies say they met with Officer Mario Molina and recovered the stolen property.
Molina is a seven-year veteran with the Oro Valley Police. An internal investigation is also underway.
