2 Houston officers charged in cocaine selling scheme

Michael Miceli, 26, a Houston cop, attempted to shield his face with legal paper. That's after posting bond at the federal courthouse on Monday afternoon.
Emerson Canizales, also 26 years old and also a Houston cop, had little to say after being released from federal custody.
Both Houston Police Department officers are accused of conspiring to transport five kilograms of cocaine back in December under the shield of their badge.
The two officers, who entered the academy together in September 2010, could soon leave the department under a federal conviction.
They are also accused of accepting a $1,000 fee for protection of the illegal substance, the cocaine they are accused of transporting.
HPD Chief Charles McClelland issued a short statement saying that he has been working with federal investigators on the case and will never tolerate criminal misconduct.
As for Canizales and Miceli, the two officers who graduated from the academy together could be going to federal prison together for a long time if convicted in the two-count indictment.
