Police: 3rd
person charged in officer-involved brawl outside Galveston bar
GALVESTON,
Texas – A third person has been charged in connection with a drunken brawl
outside of a Galveston bar that involved an off-duty HPD officer.
Corbin
Johnson, 22, is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police
say Johnson was with Miles Dumas, an off-duty HPD officer, and another man,
when a group of people started talking to them at a bar on the Strand on May 2,
2012.
At
some point, witnesses said the group commented that Dumas had his ears pierced.
That’s
when Dumas allegedly exposed himself and was escorted out of the bar.
Witnesses
said he returned, flashed a gun and told the group he was a cop before security
kicked him out again.
But
when the group left the bar, they said Dumas and his friends were waiting.
Police
said Dumas, Johnson and the other friend beat up one man and stabbed another.
Two
of the suspects, including Dumas, were arrested that night. Dumas was later
relieved of duty.
Police
said they expect to arrest Johnson, who is from Houston, sometime this week.
